                     Materials for Blue Whale:

                    1½  yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
                    1 key ring or lanyard hook
                    33 royal blue pony beads
                    14 white pony beads
                    7 translucent blue pony beads
                    1 black pony beads

                    Special Instructions: Pay close attention to the string path to make the water. It is done by adding 4 beads on one strand, and go back through beads #2&3. Add 3 more beads onto the same strand and go back through 3 beads. The fins are done by adding 5 beads onto one                    strand. Skip the last bead and weave back through beads #3&4 then #1&2. Repeat to make the other fin on the other strand. Attach the fins by crossing the strands back through beads #1&2 of the opposite fin. With one strand, go back through the last row of the body                            consisting of 2 beads. Finish off by tying a knot on one side.

                     Materials for Whale Shark:

                    2 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
                    1 key ring or lanyard hook
                    44 blue denim or teal pony beads
                    13 ivory or white pony beads
                    2 black pony beads

                    Special Instructions: Pay close attention to the string path to make the tail fins. Work the pattern in the usual manner down to the bead that I have marked “0”. Working with only the right strand, lace on the 4 beads and weave back through as shown and through bead “0”.                     Using the left strand, lace on the 6 beads, following the numbers. Skip bead #6 and weave the strand back through beads #4&5, and back through beads #2,3,0 &1. Also weave the right strand through bead #1. You should end up with both strands on the same side of bead                      #1. Finish off by tying a knot on one side.
