Gingerbread Man Star

designed by Evelyn McDermand

2 1/2 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
53 rust or brown pony beads
12white pony beads
1 green pony bead
1 read pony bead
Black sharpie marker for drawing on eyes.
Ribbon bow (optional)*
Special Instructions:  Begin with the head in the usual manner.  Follow the string path carefully in Diagram 1 for making the star points.
Two of the points are made with one strand and the other two points with the other strand.  To attach, pull one of the strands through the bead
marked as #1 and do the same for the other strand.

Diagram 2 -  Next, add on beads #2, 3 and go through beads  4 & 5 from the previous row.  Add on bead 6 and 7 and go back through
beads 6 & 5. Repeat the  process on the other side with the other stand.  Continue with going through the first bead of the previous row, add two beads and go through the 4th bead of the previous row.  When you get to the head you will add on a green bead with the two brown and go back through the two brown beads.  Once the two strands meet, tie a knot.

*Note:  I had a piece of gingham red/white ribbon that I made a bow with and glued it on, but thatís optional.
