Gingerbread Man Star

designed by Evelyn McDermand

Materials:

2 1/2 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
53 rust or brown pony beads
12 white pony beads
1 green pony bead
1 read pony bead
Black sharpie marker for drawing on eyes.
Ribbon bow (optional)*

Special Instructions:  Begin with the head in the usual manner.  Follow the string path carefully in the first diagram for making the star points and middle. Two of the points are made with one strand and the other two points with the other strand.
To attach, pull one of the strands through the bead marked as #1 and do the same for the other strand.

Diagram #2 -  This diagram shows only the beads that will be added along with the string path. With one strand, add on beads #2, 3 and go through beads #4, 5 & 6. Add on two more brown beads and go through beads #7 & 8. Repeat the  process on the other side with the other stand. Add on 2 brown beads in the usual manner and then add the green bead the same way. From there, we will connect the newly added beads. Take both strands and go down through the middle Red
bead. Follow the string path through brown beads (#2&3), brown bead (B), and two brown beads then knot. Repeat on the other side.

*Note:  I had a piece of gingham red/white ribbon that I made a bow with and glued it on, but that’s optional.
