Poliwag - Pokémon #60

designed by Evelyn McDermand

                Materials:

2 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
42 purple or denim blue pony beads (see note)
                11 white pony beads
9 lavender or pearl blue pony beads (see note)
                2 black mini pony beads
                1 pink pony bead
                1 fancy black swirl bead

Special Instructions:
After completing the pattern, glue the black mini beads onto the white to resemble the eyes. You can find the black swirl beads at Wal-Mart. However, you will need to drill the hole a little bigger. Another suggestion is to replace the swirl bead with 2 white pony beads, then using a fine point black sharpie marker, draw a swirl onto a white sticker or paper. Cut it out in a circular shape and glue it onto the white beads.

Note: Poliwag is an odd color. It is somewhat of a “periwinkle” color, a cross between purple and blue. An exact color match in pony beads could not be found. You can use either the purple/lavender or denim/pearl blue combination, which should closely resemble the character.
