Uncle Sam Star
Materials:2 ˝ yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
18 royal blue pony beads
15 white pony beads
14 red pony beads
10 black pony beads
8 tan or ivory pony beads
1 silver or silver glitter pony bead
Black sharpie marker or craft paint pens for drawing on eyes.
Special Instructions: Follow the
string path carefully in diagram #1 for making the star points
and belt.
Diagram #2-To attach the star points, pull one of the strands through the bead marked as #1 and do the same for the other strand. This diagram shows only the beads that will be added along with the string path. With one strand, add on beads #2 &3 and go through beads #4, 5 & 6. Add on two more blue beads and go through beads #7 & 8. Repeat this process on the other side. In the usual manner, add the 2 white beads. Using one strand, add the last white bead and go back through the 2 white beads above. Both strands should be opposite each other from the two white beads. Using one strand on the left side, go down through the 2 blue beads, the black bead marked B on the belt, and through beads #3&2. Continue to go through beads 2 & 3 on the right side and up through the black bead. With the other strand, weave through the 2 blue beads on the right. Both strands should meet and knot.
